On my walkman this week – Out of the Blue

This week on my walkman I have listened exclusively to Phil’s CD Out Of The Blue. This is a truly breathtaking  album, based on Phil’s blues roots, developed when he played with his brother Steve in the band Delivery. When Phil was writing these pieces he had intended to ask Steve, who was a superlative blues pianist, to play on the recording but Steve became ill around this time and tragically died in December 1998. Out of the Blue was released at the begining of the year 2000
and Phil dedicated this album to his beloved brother who is sorely missed.

Today I am posting the first four compositions on the album.
