A Life in Music: Green and Purple

Morphing from a freeform collective improv (with Fred Baker’s fuzz bass and Theo Travis’ tenor sax particularly standing out) to an infectious slice of Canterbury funk, with Pete Lemer weaving his serpentine synth leads around Doug and Patrice’s catchy riff, the piece culminates in the rubato end section, the same theme that (as part of the Big Medley) kicked off 1987’s Cutting Both Ways album – and many In Cahoots gigs.

  1. I love everything I’ve heard thus far. Everyone playing with passion and reverence to Phil’s vision. A fitting tribute. Sadly I was stuck in Toronto and unable to cross the pond for these performances. Thanks for making them available.
