It’s been a few months since we’ve added another Miller-Baker duo performance. This recording of indeterminate origin is from the duo’s first actual tour – available evidence suggests there had only been one duo concert since their debut at the Vortex in April 1991, during In Cahoots’ Japanese tour the following December, a performance available on this site – so this really is one of the earliest we have in the archive. Not surprisingly, the setlist is drawn mostly from the recently recorded “Double Up”, but there are also versions of “Bass Motives” and “Speaking To Lydia”, both from Phil’s solo album “Digging In”, neither of which exist in studio form. Thanks to whoever recorded this, in (tour promoter and close friend of Phil’s) Henk Weltevreden’s hometown of Maassluis.
