For this recording as well as several others which we plan to also make available here, we have fan Martin Mycock to thank as it’s his recording of this gig, one of too few played after the release of “Out of the Blue” in 2001. Of course, Benji’s board recordings of the subsequent Japanese shows in December remain the ultimate document of this period, but this is a worthy alternative, and the only document we have of the band playing the entire album during a single performance, whereas in Japan it was spread over two nights. This still leaves room for a few tasty older tunes. After Pip left in 2002, only “Delta Borderline” remained in the set, which makes these versions of the other “Out of the Blue” material all the more valuable…
